Which air conditioner fits your home?
Inverter is compressor-control technology, not a separate installation style: a split or window AC can be inverter-based. Ask for a room heat-load assessment considering area, sunlight, ceiling height, occupancy and insulation.

Look beyond the sticker price.
Compare current model efficiency labels, annual consumption assumptions and total installed cost. Include piping, brackets, electrical work and future access. An oversized or poorly installed unit can perform badly even with a high efficiency rating.
